What We Believe
-
God
God is eternal, perfectly loving through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as described in the Bible. God is the Beginning and End, Creator of all that is good. God reigns over all, in all places at all times.
-
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is infallible and stands the test of time. The Bible contains life for those who believe in and follow its truth. God has revealed himself to humanity through the Bible.
-
Jesus
Jesus is fully God and fully Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the Virgin Mary and lived a sinless life. He died on a cross and rose again to reconcile all people to God. Jesus freed all those who believe in Him from the fear of death, the power of sin and the devil. Jesus will return again and reign over His kingdom. His Bride will reign with him, but those who reject Him, will suffer apart from Him for eternity.
-
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, works and moves in the hearts of those who believe. The Holy Spirit draws believers closer to God, transforms them to be more like Jesus and prepares them for good works. The Holy Spirit gives believers spiritual gifts that still operate today. Every believer is encouraged to continually seek to be filled by the Holy Spirit.
-
Humanity
People are made in the image of God. Therefore, every person possesses intrinsic value and dignity. Every person has also fallen victim to sin and thus needs a saving relationship with God.
-
Sin
Sin is like a disease that infects every part of a persons heart. Sin makes experiencing the fullness of life very difficult and in fact fractures all things. This is why the world needs Jesus.
-
Salvation
Salvation comes to all who believe in Jesus Christ. Salvation is by faith alone, through grace alone: We cannot save ourselves. When Jesus saves, he saves completely and eternally.
-
The Universal Church
The Christian church has been, and will continue to be, a diverse organism. However, there is only one Universal Church of Jesus Christ. It is made up of those who have a relationship with Him and follow His path. The church is the Bride of Christ, called to advance the Kingdom of God and reflect His glory.
-
Baptism
Baptism is one of the ordinances given to the Church by Jesus. Baptism is illustrated in the Bible as total immersion into water following a person’s conversion. This symbolizes the union of the believer with Jesus in His death and resurrection.
